With the weather in Scotland still being very unpredictable at the moment it was good to make last minute plans with friends to climb at Forth Quarry, Cambusbarron. Our original plans were to be winter climbing in the Northern Corries but this was cancelled due to the recent thaw.

Arriving at the quarry the ground was still wet and evidence of the over night frost was still present, but undeterred we continued up to the base of the quarry to find the main climbing area was dry. The rock was cold on the hands making even the easy lines hard work with our numb fingers, but none the less we endured and enjoyed a good afternoons climbing.

The quarry in general had a good vibe to it. The mountain bikers were out in force enjoying the make shift course they have created in the base of the quarry. It was also good to see the local youth orienteering team out and about making the most of the good weather during this unpredictable time of year.
