Saturday morning we were all up early, the sun was shining and Richard suggested that we all go climbing at Craig y Gesail. So we decided to pack up and head off to Eric Jones campsite (575 404) just in front of the famous Tremadog Crags (577 406).

Arriving early at Eric Jones campsite, around 9:30 am we put the kettle on and set to the task of drying the tents before pitching them again. Quickly we sorted the climbing equipment and set off for Craig y Gesail (545 411) in Richard's car.

From the Eric Jones Cafe take the A498 west to Tremadog (561 401), then onto the A487 to Penmorfa (547 406). Go into Penforfa and at the top end of the village turn right onto Yr Hen Lon, a small lane that leads to Tyddyn Deucwn Isaf (543 407) and park just inside the gate. From the car park follow the well signposted path to Craig y Gesail in around 45 mins at a very gentle pace.

On our arrival at the base of Bramble Buttress, the heavens opened. We were all treated to a torrential down pour, soaked to the skin. Undeterred we all geared up and in high spirits started to climb.

Now I would have to say looking at Bramble Buttress from our approach it looked over grown and unclimbable. I was proved wrong and it turned out to be an excellent climb with interest growing as height was gained.

Topping out late afternoon we were treated to glorious sunshine and excellent views towards the coast.

When we returned to the campsite we all changed quickly and went into Tremadog for a refreshing pint. Me and Vicks left Richard and Pascaline to enjoy their evening meal in the pub. We went to the local chippy for a fish supper.

Later that evening we met back at the campsite, enjoyed some beers as the sun set over Tremadog and watched the moon rise.

It was a fantastic ending to a fantastic day!
